Once again, we have intentionally decided not to print an annual report. Instead, the report will only be available electronically.
Highlights from 2012 include:
RtE legal and technical staff worked on over a dozen substantive matters. RtE’s second lawsuit received a federal court victory against the Bureau of Land Management, holding that the federal government’s leasing of Colorado’s Roan Plateau would needlessly damage important wildlife habitat, traditional uses and cherished public lands.
For the first time in our organization’s history, through formal partnerships with Earthjustice and The Wilderness Society, we worked to educate and engage thousands of concert-goers to take action to fight mountaintop removal mining and protect Colorado’s Browns Canyon.
RtE had a presence at over 190 concert dates throughout the United States.
RtE raised nearly $130,000 from memberships, sponsorships, donations, auctions and grants.
RtE expanded its highly successful cellular telephone collection and recycling campaign, resulting in over 2,000 cell phones being kept out of landfills.
