Last fall, Rock the Earth was invited to participate in J.P. Morgan Chase’s Code for Good Challenge. This event which brings together hundreds of aspiring coders with nonprofits facing technology challenges is now in its third year leveraging talent and technology to advance social causes. One such solution that was developed for Rock the Earth was selected as the winning technology. As a result, the actual build-out of this custom technology is now underway through Chase’s internal technology program, Force for Good. In September 2016, Rock the Earth’s ED, Paige Heydon, joined the Force for Good project team for the kick-off in NYC. Over the next six months, a team of eleven technologists will work to develop technology enabling RtE to take a giant step forward in the way it collects, uses, and shares information. Stay tuned as this exciting project unfolds.
