Happy New Year! With the changing of the calendar to 2016 comes a big change for Rock the Earth: the arrival of our new Executive Director, Paige Heydon. With a lengthy background in nonprofit management, we couldn’t be more excited for Paige to start to make her mark on the organization! Meanwhile, as we look forward we also take a look back at 2015 and the many accomplishments that we achieved. Also in this issue, we wrap up our 3rd Annual Colorado Dine Out for Earth event (as well as preview our 2nd California Dine Out for Earth), call on comments to the latest BLM proposal for Colorado’s Roan Plateau, and ask that YOU, our readers, help us pick our 2016 Planet Defender Award winners by nominating your favorite environmental activists and leaders.
We’re also here to help you stay green all year long by offering a “green tip of the month” in our Key of Green column and by providing a convenient way for you to insure that your old mobile phone or tablet gets recycled. Get your device to us (at an event or by mail) – we’ll take it from there.
If your business is looking at a great way to celebrate Earth Day 2016 and get some awesome exposure here in Rock the Earth Notes, we’ve got a way you can partner with us. Finally, we have our monthly auctions and offer some awesome member benefits in the form of discounted festival tickets. We thank our dedicated volunteers and funders and invite you to volunteer with our fine, fine organization.
